Dwyane Wade and Li-Ning officially unveiled the upcoming Way of Wade 8 at ComplexCon.
While early leaks of the WoW 8 showed a laceless design, it looks as if there is a bit more to the model than we initially thought.
Unlike other laceless basketball shoes that have released, the Way of Wade 8 looks to switch things up by offering two different versions of the shoe. One with laces and one without.
Branding on the shoe is large and in your face while the overall design is a bit more streamlined and reminiscent of the WoW 6. Utilizing Cordura Fabric, leather and synthetics along the upper with plenty of support pieces.
The support pieces are a bit of a concern as the Wade line has been known to overdo it in the support section in the past. With the WoW 8 it looks as if Carbon Fiber has been brought back into the mix with a full length spring plate. We hope this plate isn’t as stiff as the one featured in the Wade 2.
Tech specs were labeled on a very elaborate box. Cloud Foam makes a return while BOOM is introduced to the Wade line for the first time. All-Condition rubber is featured — the traction pattern itself looks sketchy. Full length Carbon plate & TPU stabilizer for support.
An official release date is unknown, but once there is more information we’ll make sure to post an update. In the meantime we look forward to discussing the Way of Wade 8 with you over at out WearTesters Discord community.
