Tinker Hatfield, the renown designer of many Air Jordan silhouettes for Jordan Brand, gives us a little insight today. Insight to what exactly? Well here’s the answer: The inspiration on the Air Jordan 11 Low IE.
Tinker explains that he wanted to create a “doing a low top o the Jordan 11, but fresher.” In the article presented from Nike, Tinker further explains that he “wanted something that was lighter and easier to wear,” as well as changing the ventilation of the model. Check out the full article below, as well as the Air Jordan 11 Low IE, Air Jordan 1.5 High the Return, and Air Jordan 1 KO in ‘Black/Militia Green’.
I think that’s the 1.5, not KO.
Bottom is 1.5 – middle is KO.
Whoops!
Still no confirmation on what IE means, haha.
Same thing I was thinking, I was expecting an explanation, but……
I have heard that IE stands for international edition.
Jordan brand trying to increase hype desperately. I will just wait for the 11 ie to go on sale before copping. Great quality used here.
I personally love his response. It proves how stupid sneakerheads actually are, making up narrative that the designer, nor the company, ever even came close to thinking of while putting the shoes together. Many of his interviews show his disconnect with the so called sneakerhead community. He seems clueless about why there is so much hype, not being affected one way or the other. He does not come off as a phoney, ala Jason Petrie.
