To kick off this year’s Major League Baseball season, Concepts and New Balance are bringing both baseball and sneaker aficionados a unique collaboration known as the “Boston” from Concept’s Rivalry Pack.
Among Boston’s prominent sport history, a very notable rivalry would be between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox — what this Rivalry Pack is inspired by. Rather than implementing the Boston Red Sox’s team colors (navy blue and red), the Boston 998 uses the colors of the landscape of Fenway Park, the team’s home. The front upper is comprised of a rust red suede, similar to infield dirt, while the heel portion of the upper features a green suede, mimicking the stadium’s exterior and decor.
At a price tag of $220, the 998 “Boston” will release on April 11 at Concepts Boston at 10:00 AM EST. The sneaker will then go online at www.cncptsintl.com on April 16 at noon EST.
