It was only a matter of time before FastPass chopped the KD 9 Elite in half. While not much has changed besides the upper, the team in China found some interesting things…
FastPass found that the full-length articulated Zoom Air unit on the KD 9 Elite was actually just a bit thicker almost all around than the unit on the regular KD 9. At the forefoot, the unit measures 12.02 mm on the KD 9 Elite and 11.72 mm on the regular KD 9. At the heel it’s the same story, the KD 9 Elite measures 16.61 vs the 16.31 on the non-Elite.
There is still some thin glue being used at the forefoot beneath the Flyknit for structure on the KD 9 Elite, but the upper remains stretchy and more breathable than the one used on the regular KD 9. This deconstruction also shines light on that single cable that wraps the entire foot.
Unfortunately, this deconstruction doesn’t highlight the fit issues Jarron was having in the KD 9 Elite. Take a look at the gallery of images below and let us know what you think. For a comparison of the KD 9 Elite and KD 9, scroll down.

that zoom is mouth watering. if only it was for actual human feet but not for hockey sticks.
