Laceless sneakers seem to be the way of the future. As more and more sneakers ditch their laces, Nike figured it was time for the Air VaporMax to do the same.
This Nike Air VaporMax has an olive Flyknit upper with olive fuse that wraps around the sneaker from the heel to the medial side that ends at the toe area. All of this sits atop an all-black full-length VaporMax Air unit.
On this build, gone are traditional laces. Instead, a black elastic strap with a white Nike Swoosh starts from the top of the foot and goes to the lateral side of the sneaker or vice versa. How these will perform is up to speculation at this point, so take the performance functionality of the strap with a grain of salt (it’s unclear as to whether wearers can tighten the strap or not).

There is no word on whether these are just samples or if they will eventually hit retail, although no date has been announced.
Is this new iteration of the Nike Air VaporMax a cop or is the look too far out there? Let us know in the comment section below.

Sometimes I’m confounded why a brand would ever release a shoe that is guaranteed to sit even when its on heavy discount at the outlets.
I suppose to try and keep up with the competition. As the numbers indicate, Nike has slowly been losing ground to adidas, so maybe it’s to try and be “cool”.
Yeah, I guess this is their attempt at the adidas city sock. They have failed.
