Under Armour has been working towards better pocket solutions for years now. One of the major advancements the brand made was on women’s leggings which utilized a proprietary envelope-style pocket; it allowed wearers to carry a card, phone, and keys securely at the small of the back. Now, Under Armour has moved the pocket to the front and it’s calling it the UA Speedpocket.
The new pocket is being rolled out on the UA Speedpocket short. The front pocket solution keeps small items secure without added bulk. As many runners know, keys, phones, and card flapping around in your pockets is more than a hassle — and it isn’t a good look, especially if you need your phone on your to track your fitness with a wearable. The new UA Speedpocket doesn’t bounce or move when you do.
Under Armour designers found four major challenges runners face carrying the items they need with traditional pockets. The UA Speedpocket has a solution for all four; first, the pocket is secure due to tension; second, it is water-resistant to keep your items safe from sweat and water damage; third, it is has an easily accessible entry design; and fourth, it is adaptable in that it can carry one item or many — it all depends on how much you need with you while you run.
The UA Speedpocket short is currently available at UnderArmour.com for $45 in two colorways and sizes small to XXL. More colorways will be coming.
