Nike is updating many of its silhouettes for winter and this year the Utility releases are getting bold designs with new looks — just check out the Air Force 1 Utility QS.
Still recognizable as an Air Force 1, this latest Utility build ditches the usual laces for new eyestays that secure thick elastic straps. Those straps can be adjusted with the magnetic buckle closure debuted on the 2017 NikeLab Komyuter.
Designed to handle the coming inclement weather (at least if you’re in the Northeast U.S.), the Air Force 1 Utility features a much larger tongue that should keep water and wind out. There is no official word on whether the leather upper has been updated with water-resistant characteristics.
Finally, the Air Force 1 Utility rides atop glow in the dark outsoles. Labeled as being “designed and tested in Beaverton, Oregon,” the outsoles glow a bright neon green but they do not feature a more aggressive tread like other Utility builds.
The Nike Air Force 1 Utility will be a Quickstrike release (that means very limited) that should drop on September 26, according to leaker US11. There is no official word on pricing.
