Reebok Answer IV (4) Release Date + Info

Reebok-Answer-IV-(4)-Release-Date-Info-1

Next week the Reebok Answer IV will release to the public once again. August 10th will be the official date and there is a select amount of retailers receiving the shoe (list can be found after the jump).

Just like the Reebok Question, these will be another “limited release”… this is something I’m actually not happy about. Adding the word “limited” now makes an entire population of greedy resellers thirst over the shoe that they initially would have zero interest for. Reebok can barely put out a decent shoe as it is and when they finally release something people may want they make it limited… makes no sense to me and its clear they are trying to stay relevant in a culture that has long forgot about them. Releasing a fan favorite should be a tribute to fans who have supported the brand over the years – along with a quick and instant way to make some cash – but instead of “treating” us to a classic being brought back to life they slap us in the face with one of the most disrespectful things a company can do… make the shoe nearly unattainable for those who actually want it… someone like me who loves this shoe and wants to lace them up, zip up the enclosure then walk on-court the same way a certain 6’0” PG did back in the his prime.

Will I get a pair to rock on-court? Who knows… I’ll see what I can do to get a pair. Even if I did it wouldn’t much matter… Reebok caters to the greedy now… blind leading the blind. I can bet that those who WANT the shoe to play in won’t be able to get them now. You know… because they’re now labeled as limited.

Now that I’ve gotten all of that out, hit the jump to see which retailers are going to get the shoe (if you want to attempt grabbing a pair) and you can also read a bunch of bullsh*t Reebok wrote up to make it sound like they actually care about Iverson’s trip to the 2001 NBA Finals & that humiliating move that caused Tyronn Lue to fall on the floor looking like a fish out of water.

Originally released in 2001, the Reebok Answer IV was worn by legendary point guard Allen Iverson during an unforgettable season. In addition to being crowned the league’s Most Valuable Player, Iverson and his Answer IVs led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals against the Lakers. Arguably the biggest “did-you-see-that” moment of the series – and most memorable image of Iverson in his Answer IVs – was the legendary “step over” in Game 1.

Considered one of the Iverson line’s best performing models and best looking silhouettes, the Answer IV is a “must have” for sneaker collectors who admire its in-game history, clean design and signature details. The Answer IV features Reebok’s full length DMX cushioning technology and a unique zip-up closure system.

Iverson’s mantra that he wears on his arm – Only the Strong Survive – adorns the outsole of the shoe in the same script as his famous tattoo. A black/white imprint of Iverson’s face can be found set into the heel, picturing him with cornrows and a headband: his characteristic style circa 2001.

The limited edition Answer IV white/black hits key retailers including Foot Locker, Finish Line, Champs and more on 8/10 for $115. Like the white/red Question launch on May 25th, the Answer IV white/black will be a one-time drop in 2012. When they’re gone, they’re gone!

  1. i still remember ballin on this, quite qood but really hard to ‘breathe’ for my foot especially becoz the ziplock closure entire ventilation. the one still i can’t explain the metal plate under the bottom of shoe for some time after wearing it will become disfigure like something hit on it.

last but not least this shoe is HEAVY (i think all reebok shoes are heavy) but the material better than Nike and have long durability

  2. You are right man, reebok is greedy now, they don’t care about the fan any more, but i guess we have to thank adidas, at the end reebok is part of the adidas group.
Hope I can get my hands on a pair of this,

  3. Limited & Hyped up releases is a gold mine for resellers. Too bad for people who really want to have a pair. Reebok should release the retro’s as GR, they would outsell their current line-up of kicks.

  4. What…!?!? I cant imagine what there going to do when the Kamikaze II release…!!! Tired of this limited release n resallers… I remember back then when I saw this shoe at ross, they were like $50. Now its limited release ??? Mehh going to pass. But i hope a can get a hold of the Kamikaze II…!!!

  5. Considering all the junk reeboks puts, they should at least make the good stuff more available.

Will these even be available in Europe?

I don’t remember this over the top strap on the ogs.

  6. And speaking of greed, reebok are amateurs compared to nike.
Every stupid nike release they say , it’s limited get them quick. I once emailed them asking why their only selling point now is it’s limited, instead of it’s a quality product. But I got no answer.
Plus nike uses cheap, nasty plastics and calls them “leather”.

  7. well, im bummed about this because i had these pair of shoes when i was in the philippines.. too bad i overused them and had holes in my soles.. so now i want another pair of this but since its “limited” i wish myself good luck
