ASICS Tiger has been doing excellent high-quality releases as of late. Now, the Japanese running brand has put more glorious denim on a model that is back from 1992. And soon, the Asics Gel-Sight ‘Okayama Denim’ is releasing in Japan.
Hopefully, this shoe comes Stateside because it looks great. I’ve never really loved denim on sneakers — it often isn’t implemented in a tasteful way — but this build of dark Okayama denim on the upper mixed with the off-white midsole and red accent at the heel is a winner in my book. With the black leather accents on the tongues, different lace options, and white guts, this Okayama denim model could be a real hit. The Gel-Sight also has nice paneling, and a unique heel, that make it an interesting silhouette.
I just got off the phone with atmos and there is a NYC release planned within the next two weeks towards the end of this month. The Asics Gel-Sight ‘Okayama Denim’ goes live in Japan on 6/15 via atmos. If the price on atmos is converted to USD, we’re looking at around $150 for this shoe. So will you be copping?
