Transparent luxury sneaker maker Oliver Cabell has unveiled its upcoming collaboration with AESTHETNIK, a Berlin-based visual artist.
Last month, we reported that Oliver Cabell had collaborated with British designer Cole Buxton for a simple and classic Rennes trainer; that shoe sold out in less than two minutes and had a wait list of 500+. This latest collaboration with AESTHETNIK already has a waitlist of nearly 1,000.
NIK began as a minimalist photographer capturing the hyper saturation of New York City. According to Oliver Cabell, NIK soon became one of the pioneers of hyper-minimalist photography. Now, he is the Image Director at High Snobiety.
“Minimalism in my work gives room for imagination,” said NIK in a statement. “And this shoe is best understood and experienced in the same way that architecture is: by moving through space and interacting with the materials it’s build with — and letting imagination fill the rest.”
This collaborative Low 1 is handmade and constructed from Italian full-grain deerskin (known for its breathability and comfort) and uses a subtle calfskin leather lining from a small tannery in Spain. The shoe rides atop a custom made rubber outsole from Italian supplier Dami.
The AESTHETNIK x Oliver Cabell Low 1 will be limited to just 75 pairs worldwide. It retails for $208 and will be available on May 15 at OliverCabell.com.
Oliver Cabell also has its first Chelsea Boots coming this month so stay tuned for updates. You can learn more about this brand by checking out Oliver Cabell’s latest handmade sneaker, the Erving.
