Parisian high-fashion brand Vetements, known for selling a single sleeve plaid shirt for over $800 (no joke, here it is), has linked with Reebok to create footwear as part of Vetements’ Spring/Summer 2017 collection. Together, the brands have helped launch the Reebok Pump Supreme.
Like the grey version (pictured above) that released via Dover Street Market a few weeks back — in very limited numbers for $430 each — this black version will use the same “left” and “right” motifs. Additionally, the specs of this shoe remain true to the original; the traditional Pump is featured at the tongue (with real Vector branding) while the zig-zag air bladder wraps around the midfoot to the heel. The engineered mesh upper is retained as well as the medial Pump releases, and the shoe sits atop a tonal threaded rubber sole.
The Vetements x Reebok Pump Supreme ‘Black’ is available exclusively at SSENSE for $430 USD. Some sizes have already sold out…
So yes, the Reebok Pump Supreme has returned, but it isn’t really affordable. It would be interesting if Reebok opened up the silhouette for projects with other brands (let’s hope Supreme isn’t the next collaborator) because it was a very comfortable silhouette. Thoughts? Share them below.
