Damian Lillard’s brand new signature sneaker, the Dame 3, is all about paying homage Lillard’s roots in Oakland. Last night, the Trail Blazers point guard returned to Oakland High School to show his thanks and give back to the community where he honed his skills.
Lillard unveiled, to hundreds of students from Oakland High School, upgraded facilities including improvements to the school’s gym and weight room, a miadidas customization setup, and a brand new state of the art recording studio for the music program (Lillard’s latest album is actually pretty good).
Moreover, Oakland High School and adidas surprised Lillard by retiring his OHS #1 jersey which will now hang in the rafters. The celebrations included musical performances by Fetty Wap, Lil Uzi Vert, and DJ Esco.
According to adidas, Friday’s celebration is a continuation of Damian Lillard’s All Rise adidas campaign that aims to support communities through Damian’s interests in basketball and music.
Check out both pages of images below and share your thoughts in the comments below. Are you convinced Lillard is a good guy yet? In my opinion, it’s fantastic seeing someone so thankful and respectful of where his roots.
