Streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins announced his partnership with adidas on Instagram today, marking the brand’s first pro gamer deal ever.
By signing Ninja, adidas is recognizing the gaming culture and supporting creators all around the world in every industry. Besides Ninja, adidas sponsors several professional esports teams including Danish team North.
This is also far from Ninja’s first brand partnership as the pro gamer ditched Amazon’s Twitch streaming services recently for Microsoft’s Mixer. Ninja also has his own toy line and gets paid handsomely to stream games like Apex Legends.
Brands are more and more open to sign pro gamers to deals, recognizing the significance of the market. Earlier in the year, Nike signed an apparel deal with League of Legends Pro League in China, whereas esports team Champion is getting its own shoe design from K-Swiss.
The deal between Ninja and the Brand with Three Strips is still largely unknown; however, Blevins has announced on his Mixer channel that more details will soon entail. Is gamer collaboration with brands the next trend? Sound off in the comment section below.
