Under Armour has finally launched the ultra-lightweight super-ventilated UA CoolSwitch that we first reported on back in March of 2016.
The tech specs say the shoe has an offset of 8mm and weights 7.5 oz. but this is by far the lightest shoe I have ever held in my hands — it feels like nothing but air! The UA CoolSwitch uses an exclusive coating on the inside of the shoe that pulls heat away from the foot in order to cool the wearer for longer use. (It is the same porcelain coating used on UA’s CoolSwitch clothing.)
Moreover, there is 360° ventilation: heat can escape through the outsole and midsole, as well as the perforated sockliner. The UA CoolSwitch is a slip-on with traditional laces and pull tabs for easy entry.
Underfoot, the two-piece Charged Cushioning midsole sits atop a rubber outsole with strategically placed traction for a balance of durability and weight savings.
If you can get this shoe in-hand, do so — you might be blown away, like I was, with how extremely light it is.
