Our best look yet at three colorways of the upcoming Nike AlphaDunk.
Official images of Nike Basketball’s upcoming AlphaDunk model have leaked online.
With this leak we assume that an eventual official unveiling could be happening pretty soon. As previously reported, the Nike AlphaDunk has a tentative release date for August 30, so an official unveil within the next week or two makes sense.
As for the shoe itself, these latest images show much more detail than what we’ve previously seen. Traction looks heavily inspired by Nike Basketball’s past as this pattern was used on models such as the Air Max Penny 2 as well as a few Air Max Uptempo models. The forefoot Zoom Air looks to be uncaged. That causes a little concern in terms of stability, however, that likely means the PSI levels will be rather high to help prevent rolling an ankle. There is also a TPU stabilizer plate sitting above the Zoom Air unit which should help with that as well. It’s been rumored that the shoe features heel Zoom Air (some say it’s double stacked) but there are no markings or labels of Zoom Air at the rear of the shoe so fingers crossed the model features heel and forefoot cushioning.
The model looks like it could have been made for LeBron James. Maybe it was and was scrapped in leu of another design. Pure speculation on our part, but you never know. They just look a bit too cumbersome to be part of the once vibrant Flight line from the 90’s.
Enjoy these official images of the Nike AlphaDunk as this is our best look at yet the upcoming basketball shoe. We hope you continue to keep the conversation rolling over at our WearTesters Discord Community.
