Hali is taking advantage of the 2025 NBA playoffs to prove two things: first, that he is most definitely not overrated, and second, that he might just be one of the most clutch players in the league today. In this article, we will look at Haliburton’s 2025 season and, more importantly, the Tyrese Haliburton shoes we have seen on his feet.

Regular Season: A Step Back?
Haliburton’s regular-season numbers saw a noticeable decline compared to his previous All-Star campaigns. In his two previous seasons, Hali was considered to be one of the best PGs in the league, averaging just about 20 points per game and 10 assists (in fact leading the NBA last season in dimes). He was named to the All-Star Team both seasons and to the All-NBA Third team in 2024.
In 2025, he averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, and 3.5 rebounds over 73 games, with shooting splits of 47.3% from the field and 38.8% from three-point range. While his assist numbers remained elite, ranking third in the league, his scoring and overall impact appeared to wane.
This statistical regression led to his omission from the 2025 All-Star Game, a surprising development for a player who had been a starter the previous year. Some speculated that his reduced role with Team USA during the Paris Olympics contributed to a slower start to the season, but all of this led to Haliburton being voted the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers.
Playoff Resurgence: Clutch Gene Activated
Despite that slight step back during the regular season, Haliburton has elevated his game in the 2025 playoffs. Over the first 11 postseason games, he averaged 18.7 points, 9.5 assists, and 5.4 rebounds, but more importantly, he showcased his ability to perform under pressure.
All season long, his fast and relentless playing style influenced how the Pacers play the game. And during the playoffs, this has become their strongest weapon. This frenetic and constant pace has made it almost impossible for other teams to keep up with the Pacers, who made it to the Eastern Conference Finals through these wars of attrition. Haliburton is not only the main pressure point for Indy, but he has had several clutch performances along the way, including two crazy game winners. Perhaps his defining moment, however, came in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks. Trailing by 14 points with under three minutes remaining, Haliburton led a historic comeback, tying the game with a dramatic buzzer-beater that sent the contest into overtime. The Pacers eventually secured a 138–135 victory. In a nod to Pacers legend Reggie Miller, Haliburton celebrated with the iconic “choke” gesture at Madison Square Garden, a move that drew both admiration and controversy.

Hali is a Puma athlete. In 2024, the German brand signed Tyrese to a multi-year deal, stealing him away from Nike. Since then, Haliburton has been rocking the Puma Clyde All-Pro, a great (and underrated) performance model.

But as for the Puma Clyde All-Pro, Haliburton has worn a plethora of different colorways. Though the best of the best have to be his various Pacers PEs. Only one has been released to the public, but all of them are super solid.
Puma Hali 1: Tyrese Haliburton’s First Signature Shoe
The 2025 NBA Finals started on June 5, 2025 in Oklahoma City. Early in the day, Puma announced Haliburton’s first official signature shoe, the Puma Hali 1.
Haliburton would go on to hit a game winning shot in he Hali 1 later that night to beat the Thunder in Game 1 by a score of 111-110.
The Puma Hali 1 was designed by Salehe Bembury and includes a full length NITRO foam midsole, herringbone traction, a winged stability plate, beefy TPU heel counter, some premium materials on the upper, and and a fun integration of the Puma Cat logo. The initial colorway is called Hibiscus.
