Good timing, right? In the midst of Kobe’s retirement, I created a NIKEiD that pays homage to one of my favorite Kobe colorways of all time; the Kobe VI “Sunset.”
The “Sunset” option was available for design during the month of February and half of March, but is no longer available for purchase. “Tour Yellow” can be found on the tongue, laces, inner lining, and rear Kobe Shield logo/stitching. A white swoosh adds contrast to the upper, and the tongues’ Kobe Shield logo is metallic silver.
As Jarron mentioned in his “Grinch” NIKEiD Kobe XI review, the upper is slightly modified. Adding to the traditional flyknit and TPU combination, there is a back layer of glue, making the material much more stiff than what is found on the retail version of the Kobe XI. (Watch the video to better understand) The upper acts as a combination of the Kobe IX and Kobe XI. You can make your own conclusion from there…
