The Nike VaporMax 2020 FK is an update the of the original Nike Vapormax. The first version of the VaporMax has seen a bunch of iterations since it released in 2017. This new edition packs a bunch of changes, is made with 50% recycled materials, and furthers Nike’s goal of zero waste.
What’s in the video?
In the video, Chris cruises through all the usual categories, providing the in depth information you need. He supplies expert level opinions on the materials, cushioning, traction, support, and fit. Here’s some of what he discusses:
- Does the VaporMax sole unit look like a cleat?
- Designed by the same person who did the Air Max 270 React
- Story time: a visit to Portland
- Is the VaporMax a runner?
- Redesigned tooling
- Lowered stack height
- “Thicc” plastic traction
- Better looking than previous VaporMax models?
- Still no midsole
- Recycled FlyKnit upper
- Extra heel padding
- Dual layer strobel
- FastFit system like the Nike Kobe AD NXT FF and Air Jordan 33
- Sizing recommendations
Finally, towards the end of the video we get story time with Mrs. Wing and learn just how devious their son can be. We also get a more serious conversation about saving the environment. What’s the correct balance between being part of the problem and part of the solution? There’s no easy answers but Chris and Jodi do a good job talking about how hard it is, for everyone, not just brands, to find the right balance.
