Nike is following last year’s LeBron 14 ‘Agimat’ release with the LeBron Soldier 12 ‘Agimat’. The shoe honors the Filipino tradition of magic and sorcery.
Once again done up entirely in tonal shades of blue, the shoe appears to hint at LeBron James’ otherworldly abilities on the court. The LeBron Soldier 12 ‘Agimat’ is also a nod to all the hardcore hoops fans in the Philippines — there, basketball is the country’s most popular sport.
Gold accents help give this latest ‘Agimat’ build some pop while notable details include the sayings “Mula Mandirigma Sa Mandirigma” (“From Warrior to Warrior”) and “Para Sa Kadakilaan” (“For Greatness”) at the heels. Additionally, “MNL” for Manila and “305” for Akron, Ohio, are featured. The inner lining gets a unique multicolor graphic and the entire shoe rides atop icy outsoles.
FastPass’ LeBron Soldier 12 deconstruction showed that the shoe features a 10mm thick Zoom unit in the forefoot and a 13mm thick Zoom unit in the heel. The upper is constructed from Battleknit, a thicker Flyknit designed for LeBron James.
The Nike LeBron Soldier 12 ‘Agimat’ releases at Eastbay.com on June 15 for $140 (it is an SFG build with suede at the toe). Let us know if you’ll be picking it up in the comments below.
