Hanon has linked with Le Coq Sportif to come out with a fire collab for autumn.
This collab pays homage to Le Coq Sportif’s beginnings in 1882 as a manufacturer of cotton jerseys. Soon the French company became renowned for knitted sportswear and 130 years later LCS is a staple in many sports — rugby, cycling, and football (soccer).
To execute this story of Le Coq Sportif’s heritage, Hanon has used a plush cotton jersey material on the tongue and inner lining that looks unlike anything I’ve seen in awhile. The silhouette usually features synthetic overlays but Hanon has ditched those for beautiful pigskin nubuck and closed mesh.
The shoe ditches most of its rubber components as well, replacing them with premium materials. Laminated calfskin footbeds, nubuck tongue patches, and jersey inspired laces are just some details. The Le Coq Rooster is tonally embossed on the medial side of the shoes while the hanon flame logo is detailed on the heels (which looks freaking awesome). Each pair will ship with three sets of laces.
The Hanon x Le Coq Sportif LCS R1000 ‘French Jersey’ in Brick Red and Vibrant Orange will launch in-store at Hanon on Thursday, December 3 at 17:00-19:00GMT (12:00-2:00 PM ET). The online launch is set for December 4 at 14:00GMT (9:00 AM ET). These will set you back £115.00 (approx. $170).
So, will you be copping? Do you find these as beautiful as I do? Sound off in the comments below.
