CES is a household name when it comes to New York graffiti. He has been burning trains longer than I’ve been alive and while I was coming up as a young vand…I mean artist in New York, him, BATES, and RIME where my inspirations. CES has gathered an enormous following on Instagram (@wish4ces) for his almost daily drawings that always utilize his tag. He’s also an avid sneaker lover that has transformed all manner of Jordans into the letters CES (here). Now, CES is launching SockCes and applying eight of his designs to limited edition socks.
The images below are all the pieces from the first wave of designs — when these sell out, they’ll be gone forever, and then new SockCes socks will drop next time ’round. Retail price for each pair is $13 and with shipping (in the U.S.) total price will be about $15. The first eight designs release this Friday, December 9, at SockCes.com. There is no word on when the socks will go live just yet, but we’ll remind you Friday.
According to SockCes, these socks have extra support cushioning in the areas of the foot susceptible to impact and injury. The designs are clever and recognizable: ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan IIIs, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, MF Doom, Freddy, Wu-Tang — nothing is off limits.
These socks are an easy and accessible way of gifting someone with original art — and I’ll probably be picking up at least four of the eight releasing Friday. I’ll have to save some funds for the next lineup because these are just so ill.
What do you think of CES’ first line of socks? Excited for the upcoming designs? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to check out CES’ Instagram — it’s well worth your time.
