The Ewing Athletics October Retro collection has the 33 Hi covering lots of bases: the brand has collaborated with the National Breast Cancer Foundation for a good cause, black and orange have been splashed across the model for Halloween, and the winterized version of the silhouette is back just in time.
First, as I’m sure many sneaker enthusiasts know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, Ewing will be releasing a limited edition National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) 33 Hi. This one flaunts a pink full-grain leather upper with Pink Ribbons featured at the heel and tongue. According to Ewing Athletics, proceeds from every pair sold will be donated directly to the NBCF from Patrick and Ewing Athletics. The NBCF 33 Hi in ‘Sugar Plum/Cotton Candy/White’ will retail for $120.
Second, Ewing is, of course, celebrating Halloween and it’s doing so with a special limited 33 Hi draped entirely in patent leather. The glossy black upper keeps things simple with orange accents and sits atop a translucent orange outsole. This 33 Hi ‘Halloween’ in Black Patent and Shocking Orange will also retail for $120.
Finally, with the colder and snowier months approaching, Ewing has resurrected the 33 Hi Winter, a completely waterproof model that utilized a Dried Herb upper atop a glossy black midsole. This winterized version of Ewing’s signature gets a D-ring lacing system and new materials for a more durable build. It would have been interesting to give the boot — yes, at this point it’s definitely a boot — a more rugged and aggressive outsole. The 33 Hi Winter will retail for $125.
These three latest versions of the Ewing 33 Hi do not yet have precise release dates but expect them towards the middle or end of October, as with every Ewing Retro drop. We will update you with release dates when they become available.
