adidas CrazyLight Boost 2016 ‘Liberties’

Today, adidas unveiled this ‘Liberties’ colorway of the CrazyLight Boost 2016 that will be worn during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

It was only a matter of time before the recently released CrazyLight Boost 2016 got an Olympic colorway and while there aren’t a lot of adidas athletes on the 2016 men’s Olympic basketball roster, there are a few that should give this colorway some shine in Rio this August.

This CLB16 uses the standard red, white, and blue color scheme, a graphic jacquard upper to keep things unique, and James Harden’s number 13 on the tongue. Hopefully, adidas hooks up Olympic athletes Harrison Barnes and Kyle Lowry with their own PEs to rock during their quest for that Olympic gold medal because James Harden will be watching from home like the rest of us.

The adidas CrazyLight Boost 2016 ‘Liberties’ is set to release July 16 on for $140. Thats right, $140. Why? We’re not too sure.

  1. Got a pair from finishline on July 1st. Not sure why but they had this color and the red, but not the white. These were 130$ for me. Sz 12

      1. Did you and Harris get it from a Finishline in Texas? Someone on Twitter offered to sell this CW to me as he was an employee at Finishline in Texas for $130. adidas Canada hasnt even released the first 3 CWs so I am hoping these will be available on July 16 if not I’m buying from the USA..

  2. This is a nice colorway, and it also has continental rubber,

I doubt any player in the current Team USA 2016 would wear it, most of the guys wear Nike’s.

    1. WTF you talking about Grimlock.. Lowry, Barnes are with adidas and Klay Thompson is with Anta. Lowry definitely will wear these. So your doubt is wrong. Yes the majority of the players are with Nike/JB. But saying “any player…would wear it” is ignorant.

  3. These are dope but the $20 increase is dumb. I saw on another site that said they used primeknit for this colorway. Thought that might be the reason for the price jump. Thankfully Weartesters has the true facts (and better pictures) that prove otherwise (no primeknit on these). So they’re asking us to pay $20 more for a shoe that has Harden’s logo? But Harden isn’t even going to wear them….. So $20 for some extra thread that has no meaning? Hmmmm. Pass

  4. eh Thanks WearTesters, Jarron for not saying these are a USA CWs only and being more educated than idiots on other sites like SneakerNews. You actually did not even mention USA in your article. People need to know/educate themselves on other countries flag since France, Thailand, Cambodia, Russia, Serbia, Australia, Malaysia whose flag very similar to USA got damn North Korea!! Heurtel of France rocked these vs Philippines in Manila FIBA OQT. Turkish players could have worn these also since it matched their jersey in the game vs Canada. PREACHED.

  5. I tryed these on today I even went half a size down and still got heel slip just walking. I tryed the kd 9 it was ? perfect. Just waiting for this Saturday “Mic drop”. Can’t wait to see what the warrior colorways will look like.

  6. Seems like an overreaction. Grimlock said most of the guys wear Nikes, and he’s right by a landslide. Nine players on a twelve man team wear Nike or JB. That’s 75% of the roster. All that has to happen is have two players wear something different and Grimlock will be right. I personally agree that Lowry will probably wear these, but to say it is ignorant seems excessive to me.

  7. I’m thinking adidas asked Harden a few months ago if he was gonna go for the Olympics and he said “sure, yeah.” Adidas hit start on the assembly line, then later Harden goes “naw, I change my mind.”

Anyway, its a nice cw, and I’m really enjoying the shoe so far. That heel slip thing is real, but its not a lot, and it never comes close to popping out of the shoe. Adidas always had some fit issues in too many of their bball shoes; they need to get better at that if they want to take more of a chunk of the market.

    1. It’s a very nice CW especially that it does not have a white sole. I love my white shoes but I’m starting to hate having white soles.

Harden should still be able to wear these with the Houston jersey. Especially if he wears the 95/96 jerseys.
