Ideal for 100m-400m sprints, the latest track spikes from Under Armour have dropped in a ‘Jesse Owens’ edition that uses two Boa closure systems.
Constructed using a lightweight synthetic leather upper and a seamless heel cup with silicone grip for an anatomical fit (SpeedForm), this 8-pin track spike features laser etched perforations in the tongue and upper provides ventilation and breathability. Additionally, there is an external TPU heel counter for support.
The unique features that drew me to these spikes are the double Boa closure systems, that lock the wearer in with nylon coated steel laces, and the full-length Pebax spring plate that propels the wearer forward.
If this $150 UA SpeedForm Sprint Elite ‘Jesse Owens’ edition is too pricey, there is a $120 Pro model, also done up in Jesse Owens flavor, that uses traditional laces (it’s also lighter than the Elite).
