We are just over two months removed from our first TRUE Linkswear review. It took me longer than expected to write about the second model that TRUE sent me, but it was with good reason. I couldn’t stop wearing the TRUE Lux G which led to a later than planned article.
In fact, the TRUE Lux G is the best spikeless golf shoe I’ve ever worn, and it might be the best golf shoe I’ve ever worn. Period.
I’ve worn the Lux G more than any other shoe this year (on and off the course). I wear them to work, to other sporting events, to hang out with friends, and especially on the golf course. It’s honestly unbelievable how good the TRUE Lux G really is.
Let’s dive deeper.
TRUE Lux G
Price: $175
Sizing: True to size
Fit
The TRUE Lux G fits true to size with ZERO issues. I wear an 11.5, and my standard size in the Lux G fits like a glove on my average-width feet.
For those that have wider feet, they may fit a little tighter. But it definitely won’t be a dealbreaker. I am confident the Lux G will accommodate all types of feet.
If you’re looking for a shoe to keep tied and just slip on, expect a slight amount of resistance. Once they’re tied, they take more effort to get your foot in the next time.
The fit category receives a beautiful 10/10 from me.
Traction
I was impressed at how good the traction was for having such a basic setup.
We see rubber tread on the bottom that seems pretty simple but performed very well. I noticed the best traction on the fairway and on the tee box, but I felt the grip working hard for me in the sand and rough as well.
I played in every condition (aside from snow) in the Lux G, and I was blown away. If you’re in a wetter climate, I would still recommend a spiked shoe. But if spikeless is your cup of tea, the Lux G is the right choice.
I even played some pickleball and basketball in the Lux G, and it was amazing on both courts. So if you’re looking for a multi-sport, traction-ready golf shoe, choose the TRUE Lux G. [Editor’s Note: Jeesh, what can’t this thing do?]
Comfort
Like I mentioned above, the TRUE Lux G is so comfortable that I wore it to work, to play other sports, and just out and about. It’s unbelievable how TRUE took their top golf shoe and also made it a great all-around shoe.
The “Wanderlux Midsole” that we saw in the All Day Knit 3 is also featured in the Lux G. The cushioning felt great on my feet in the All Day Knit 3, and it’s the same story with the Lux G. I could wear these 24/7, 365 days a year, and I honestly think that my feet would be just fine. [Editor’s Note: Tyler, if I didn’t know you’ve tested other shoes this year, I’d think you may have already done as much]
Support
I’m sure you’ve already guessed this, but I’m going to rave about the support and stability of the TRUE Lux G as well. When you can wear a golf shoe on the course, the court, and everywhere in between, you know it’s a great shoe.
When your feet get tired on the golf course, you tend to lose strength and form through your swing. The Lux G all but eliminates that danger. The Lux G boasts a rubberized saddle which increases stability and support for the top of the foot. I felt rock solid from shot to shot, which meant I never had to think about my feet on the course. You could play 36 holes of golf in a row in the Lux G and be ready for 18 more.
I clearly have no complaints in this category either and was pleased to have the stability needed for worry-free golf in the TRUE Lux G.
Price
$175 is the exact same price point as the All Day Knit 3 but for a better shoe. With how the TRUE Lux G played, I might even say that it’s underpriced. [Editor’s Note: Fair, but let’s not give TRUE any ideas…]
The materials have held up well, the performance has been top-tier, and I love how I can wear them anywhere.
Your money is VERY well spent when opting for the Lux G.
The Wrap on the TRUE Lux G
As they say in the stock market, the TRUE Lux G is hot right now, and it’s never going to cool down. You could only give me the Lux G for the rest of my life, and I wouldn’t complain. Give me 3-5 colorways, and I legitimately would be fine only using this shoe forever.
For those that usually play in spikes but are considering a spikeless shoe: pick the Lux G.
For those that already play spikeless but are looking for their next golf shoe: pick the Lux G.
[Editor’s Note: I’m sensing that all roads lead to the Lux G…]
No matter where your golf game currently is, you won’t go wrong with the Lux G.
The Lux G marks only the second shoe to receive a 10/10 based on my criteria, with the first being the Adidas Tour 360 24.
Well done, TRUE. Well done.
