The Curry 4 Flowtro is an upgrade and update of its older counterpart. While those were good performers, we think this one will be even better.

The Under Armour Curry 4 was a great performer and one of the best basketball shoes from 2017, the year it was released. However, it was lacking one major component: cushion. A lack of plush cushioning isn’t anything new for Stephen Curry’s shoes, but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless. Now that we have the Curry 4 Flowtro, that issue has been adequately fixed. We get the same tooling from the Curry 8 and there’s little to complain about.

What’s in the video?

In the video, Chris provides detailed information from all the usual categories, providing the in-depth information you need. He supplies expert-level opinions on the materials, cushioning, traction, support, and fit. Here’s some of what he discusses:

  • Update and upgrade
  • One-piece Flow sole
  • Potential torsional plate issue
  • Upper and cushion differences
  • Quality suede
  • Lack of lateral stability piece
  • More off-court friendly
  • Better knit
  • Inner suede reinforcement patches
  • Additional nylon cables
  • Soft heel counter
  • Sizing recommendations

As an added bonus, Mrs. Wing talks about how she’s been lacing up the OG up for years and how this shoe reminds her of the Under Armour Curry 1 Lux.

  1. Absolutely love this! These were my son’s favorite Curry shoe by far, and we always scoured the earth for them after they went to the secondary market. He’s super excited for these to become available in the states, especially with the Flow traction and the much easier entry/exit of the sock top. UA got this one right
