Inspired by the past. Created for the future. This is everything you need to know about the Air Jordan 34.
This is the lightest Air Jordan to date.
We all know how bulky and heavy some of the past Air Jordan’s have been. The AJ34 comes in at 13.08 oz.
Traction was make to perform — not tell a story. Keeping it simple, the design team at Jordan Brand kept things as simple as possible. Their goal was to create the best basketball shoe they could. Not the best lifestyle shoe. Herringbone makes its way around the outsole is radial fashion. Perfect for quick cuts, starts, stops and changes in direction.
This is bounciest Zoom Air I’ve ever felt… and I’ve tried them all. A large volume Hex Zoom unit can be found at the heel, but the forefoot Zoom Air is huge. It takes over the majority of the forefoot while being bottom loaded. A thin layer of soft Phylon sits atop the Zoom Air unit while a Pebax moderator plate surrounds the cushion for a snappy spring under-foot.
Materials may discourage those looking for something premium. However, the mesh build is lightweight, extremely breathable and reinforced with a layer of this cross-hatched woven material — similar to the Air Jordan 11’s cordura mesh.
It’s cross-hatched structure tightens when force is applied, which makes this lightweight Air Jordan a lot stronger than it looks.
The Air Jordan 34 fits true to size. We’ve started testing the shoe, but stay tuned for a full performance review in the coming weeks.
A release date of is currently set for September 25 while the retail price is $180.
