The adidas D Rose 4 gets deconstructed by Long7 and while there isn’t anything too surprising within the images… it gives you a good look at the SprintFrame’s new shape.
In image 10 you can clearly see what I was trying to explain in their Performance Teaser Pt. 2. The back end of the frame clearly cuts off from the sides where it used to extend through the forefoot. This is why the shoe is much more comfortable to wear and features zero pinching around the forefoot.
For those that are unaware, the SprintFrame has two purposes. First, its a support piece. Secondly, and possibly the most important, its their way of reducing weight while adding support to the shoe as you use less layers and materials when the frame is in place. Notice how the back half of the shoe is literally attached to the frame itself, the entire upper used to be attached to it as well… sort of is still but slightly different. I personally prefer this version of the frame above all else.
Check out the images below and I apologize that you have to watch your favorite colorway get dismantled like that.
Maybe I’m still stuck in the 90s, but are all outsoles really this thin these days? Wow these look like they wouldn’t last anytime at all on the blacktop.
Blame it on the race for the lightest shoe on the market.
Because they are made to be used oncourt.
Court Feel 🙂
Ya its my favorite colorwave and unavailable til December when I’ll be looking at the next .5’s… /sigh Lol Cool to see, I’m a fan of all the Rose’s thusfar. and these are lighter than the 3.5 and 3.0s and feel way more sturdy. Even with the thin outsoles, I’ve been playing indoor/ outdoor with these Rose’s as much as I do my HyperDunks. I own a pair every Rose shoe and this, surpassed the 3 and the 773-2 as the best all around shoe, the 773-2 is very sturdy and I noticed Derrick wore them in most of his pre 4.0 shoes as opposed to the 3 series and the 4 comfort wise favor the 773-2 as far as fit.
