BAIT and Reebok have tons of sneaker releases lined up for All-Star Weekend. The latest is a collab with YG: the Reebok Classic Nylon ‘4HUNNID’.
Inspired by YG’s tattoos, his sneaker is suited up in Kevlar ballistic nylon upper with red suede and white snake leather hits at the Vectors, heels, and tongues. The sneaker, one part of a two-part Classic Nylon collaboration with YG and Nipsey Hussle, is the red half of the pack (Nipsey’s is the blue half). Unfortunately, according to a source familiar with the project, Nipsey’s pair will not be releasing.
“Both shoes were inspired by the artists’ tattoos, so all the verbiage is personal to both artists and represents their mentality and culture,” Chris Hill, Senior Designer of Statement Product at Reebok told WearTesters.
The YG x Reebok Classic Nylon ‘4HUNNID’ features several shout outs for Los Angeles like the skeleton hands throwing up “YG” on the insoles, the “business-minded” message behind the tongues, and the “Lost Angeles” calligraphy at the heels.
“The shoes are designed to be the same but reflect their opposites. YG and Nipsey are close friends, they even have the same manager,” Hill continued. “They both believe in coming together, despite being from opposite sides, and that’s what the two shoes represent; from the outside world they’re the same, but if you take the time to understand them and the culture you will notice the differences — hence using the old English typefaces, but in different fonts.”
The YG x Reebok Classic Nylon ‘4HUNNID’ will retail for $130, come with two sets of laces, and be available at the BAIT x Reebok pop-up space in Los Angeles.
