After restocking its iconic Cobra sneaker, World of Troop has dropped a new retro apparel collection that is highlighted by the company’s classic Troop Velour Suits. It’s the first time these pieces have come back to market in 30 years.
“Now was just the right time to bring the Troop apparel collection back as retro apparel has become more and more popular in recent years,” David Goldberg, President of World of Troop and Ewing Athletics, told WearTesters. The suits are supremely ’80s swag with premium velour construction, striping details, and bold World of Troop logos on the chest and back.
“I acquired Troop about four years ago and have been reintroducing it slowly back into the market the right way,” explained Goldberg. “We have been listening to our fans who wanted the Cobra shoe brought back — which just came out this summer and has been our top seller — and now for this fall we wanted to reintroduce the iconic Troop Velour Suits which have been heavily requested by our fans.”
Of course, each velour suit (available in red, navy, and black) is comprised of a matching jacket and pants, but they aren’t the only garments WoT has dropped. The new FW18 collection includes the Troop Royal Crew ($75), the Troop Moto Leather Jacket ($150), the Troop Badges Hoody ($85), several All Over Arrow T-shirts ($32), the OG Eagle Track Jacket ($115), and the stunning Troop Double Diamond Velour Suit (jacket $125, pants $100).
“In the coming seasons there is much more OG Troop material on the way as well,” Goldberg told WearTesters, so stay tuned. You can check out all of the vintage ’80s styles the company has resurrected at WorldofTroop.com.
