We’ve been waiting eagerly to see what Under Armour Sportswear had in store for us. Instead of going the same route Nike did with its sportswear line, UA went the high fashion route and employed Tim Coppens, an up-and-coming Belgian designer. Now, we can finally have a look at the fruits of his labor.
The Under Armour Sportswear Fall / Winter ’16 collection styles will become available for purchase beginning September 15 at Barney’s, Mr. Porter, “high-end fashion retailers nationwide,” UASportswear.com, and Under Armour Brand Houses in New York, Boston, and Chicago.
The pieces pictured below include the Transparent Parka ($349), Draftday Tailored Sportscoat ($449), and women’s Formation Legging ($179). According to UA, technical highlights include a Transition Vest with woven nylon fabric and brushed softshell fabric, welded down fill and smart pocketing ($199) and the Draftday Oxford, a take on the modern Oxford, with cotton Oxford fabric, DWR finish, stretch cuffs and collar, unbreakable threads and printed silicone hem ($129). As for footwear, the RTL Fat Tire Boot uses the Fat Tire tooling and builds luxury atop it with a padded aniline leather upper ($219). Apparently, UA and Tim Coppens have finally found a way of making a Fat Tire boot that is aesthetically pleasing. If you think $219 is a lot, there are leather versions of the Fat Tire hiking boot that retail for $300 on UA’s site.
Under Armour Sportswear is priced as high-fashion and will be treated as such: according to UA, UAS will unveil the full collection in September during New York Fashion Week. It will be interesting to see whether the traditional high-fashion brands welcome Under Armour Sportswear or not.
So what do you think of the Under Armour Sportswear Fall / Winter ’16 collection so far? Any pieces you’d cop? Let us know down below.

Digging the fat tire boots, camouflage bomber and parka but damn these prices are steep
Agreed, on both counts
The new fat tire boot looks pretty decent, but that pricetag though….
I can get a DRose lifestyle boot with boost for almost half the price.
UA is going all in for fashion and I like it. The fat tire cushioning is what charged should of been from the being. Not the fat tire design but, the cushion. If is soft when walking but, firms up when moving. I liked them so much, I got another pair.
Good style, would buy but, my waistline prevents me
Could the first model BE wearin any more clothes!? (Insert Joey gif here)
