Under Armour has planted a stake in Asia. It’s new flagship store in Taipei’s young and bustling Shihlin neighborhood emphasizes basketball and the Under Armour way of doing things.
At the flagship store’s grand opening two days ago, Jiang Yu, point guard for the Taiwan Beer (that is the name of his team), unveiled four UA Curry Two Low colorways and shared some of his own tricks to training and safety. He also expressed his surprise at how good the Curry Two Low was and that the shoe was instrumental in helping his team win the championship. Jiang Yu revealed that Stephen Curry was his idol, emphasizing the Under Armour principles of hard training and willpower in order to achieve success. He also demonstrated ball-handling training techniques, picked up from his idol.
General Manager, Yu Wang, emphasized that this newest Under Armour flagship store was placed in the Shihlin night market district to connect particularly with young and dynamic customers as well as focus on basketball shoes, one of the most diverse goods on the market.
The Under Armour flagship store in Taipei looks massive compared to some of the company’s other brand houses. Check out the flicks below and let me know in the comments if you think UA’s investment in Asia will pay off.
