Under Armour has debuted its latest basketball sneaker, the UA Team NXT, and it costs just $100. Let’s see what it offers in terms of tech.
We knew this sneaker was coming but we didn’t have great images. Now, it’s available, and we’ve got all the tech specs.
For your $100 Under Armour is offering: a mesh upper that is coated with TPU yarn embroidery (for added structure), an articulated molded medial quarter panel, and an abrasion-resistant TPU toecap (for those toe drags). The asymmetrical hybrid entry system uses a breathable mesh tongue and webbed loop speed lacing.
The UA Team NXT sits atop a dual density midsole that combines Micro G foam and Charged Cushioning under the heel. Additionally, the die-cut EVA sockliner should add step-in comfort.
Finally, this latest shoe uses tried and true traction: a rubber outsole with full-length herringbone. There are also anatomical flex grooves in the forefoot for flexibility, and the shoe weighs 12.58 oz.
Months ago, a source at a well-known collegiate basketball program said that while playing in upcoming Under Armour basketball models, players enjoyed the UA Team NXT most because it played like a low and had interesting materials.
Would you consider the UA Team NXT based on its tech specs? I’m very curious about that Micro G…
The UA Team NXT is available now at UA.com for $100 in three colorways.

Those look dope and if it’s real micro G, then it’s a definite cop.
I would love to try these out except is it only micro g in the heel? If so, I wouldn’t be interested even for 100 dollars.
These should be Dennis Smith signature. I feel like UA needs another athlete with a low budget sig to boost sales a bit more. Yes that alone won’t make a huge difference since he is a rook but at least it makes the sneaker recognizable.
If that Micro G is in the forefoot and feels nice, the outsole is outdoor-worthy, and the upper is as comfy as it looks, then this could be the sleeper of the year. Also, UA is kind of hit-or-miss aesthetically, but these look really nice. Looking forward to the review.
Haha that’s a serious list of demands but we’re hoping to get this silhouette in to put it through its paces.
Yeah, thats true, but judging by the pics the demands could be met. I think all the companies should try to put out 100 bucks and under performance beasts. Thats a thing that they dropped off of a bit. The first few hyperfuses were worn a lot in the NBA.
Is the cushioning full length micro G?
