Under Armour Launches ArmourBox, a Subscription Service That Brings Gear to You

Today, Under Armour launched its very first subscription service, ArmourBox.

The ArmourBox contains gear curated for you by a real stylist. The service is a new way for Under Armour customers to get their performance gear and sportswear delivered right to their doors. Customers can choose when to receive their box (every 30, 60, or 90 days) and there are no shipping, return, or styling fees.

ArmourBox subscribers will get access to UA’s latest gear each season, as well as head-to-toe outfits customized to their specific training and style needs. The box can include gear for basketball, running, golf, studio, and more. To aide the stylist (the “Official Outfitter”), subscribers create a personal profile — they can even request specific items by leaving the stylist notes.

Interestingly, the free shipping and free returns aren’t the main draw. Subscribers can try on their four to six pieces (for free) and if they decide to purchase everything in the box they will receive a 20% off discount on the entire box.

Under Armour will be improving its ArmourBox service with its AI system to help both the stylists and subscribers. The AI will use data collected from UA.com and Under Armour’s Connected Fitness services (which have over 200 million users) — like how many miles you run a week or what activities you do — to fill the ArmourBox with positively reviewed products used by people doing the same activities.
