Tiffany Beers — formerly Nike’s Engineering Director responsible for projects like the HyperAdapt 1.0 and Air Mag — recently went on the Shoe-In Show to talk about her time in the footwear industry.
The conversation actually starts with how Beers got to Nike — she was working at Rubbermaid designing boxes when she applied to the Swoosh — and what she did when she started there.
One of her first assignments at Nike was the Air Jordan 21; as Air bag designer, Beers created the interchangeable heel pod and designed both the hexagon Zoom and 2-film Air bags.
On the Shoe-In Show (hosted by Matt Priest, Andy Polk, and Jasmine Pendergrass), Tiffany Beers also sheds light on her life after Nike and what it’s like being on sneaker YouTube, as well as all the technology various brands are using (3D printing, data-driven designs, etc.).
