Back in 2009, we saw the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Metallic Series’, but they weren’t done in a way that did any justice to the originals.
Fast forward to 2016 and Jordan Brand looks to be ready to bring back the classic Metallic Series AJ1 in proper fashion. The last Retro release saw the smooth grain leather swapped for tumbled, which wasn’t horrible, but definitely not original. The Metallic Series was a simple one back in the mid 80’s as the kicks featured white uppers with a hit of color done up in a metallic looking synthetic.
There is no official word on these releasing this year, but it is being rumored so keep your fingers crossed that we see them one more time.
