A fan favorite basketball shoe from adidas’ catalogue is returning with a modern update.
Back in the 2000’s the adidas Pro Model 2G was a favorite amongst basketball players.
The shoe featured modern updates including herringbone traction, adiPrene cushioning, a sturdy build, classic shell toe design, and they were an affordable $75.
adidas is gearing up to re-launch the popular hoop shoe with one significant upgrade — Bounce cushioning (similar to the adidas DON Issue 1). At the time, adiPrene and adiPrene+ were solid cushioning systems, but still offered more court feel than anything else. Bounce offers a balance of both cushion and court feel without breaking the bank.
There is currently no official release date for the upcoming Pro Model 2G with Bounce cushioning, but we’d expect to see them available just in time for team sports this Winter season.
