It’s official! Patty Jenkins is back with her next superhero feature, Wonder Woman 1984. What’s got our attention is the clothing and footwear characters like Steve Trevor will be rocking in the film.
Styles from the ’80s and ’90s came back in full force this year — adidas’ adicolor apparel line returned at the top of 2018 (a staple of the ’70s and ’80s) and Kendrick Lamar has been making the Nike Cortez pop with collab after collab. Now, with vintage-inspired shoes like adidas I-5923 capitalizing on ’80s nostalgia, the big screen will be getting a superhero flick set in 1984 to show off all those retro styles.
Wonder Woman 1984 will, surprisingly, see the return of Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine), Wonder Woman’s love interest. In a teaser shot for the new film posted by director Patty Jenkins this morning, Trevor is seen walking a mall in the ’80s fit: track jacket, white tee, track pants, classic Casio B640, and the Nike Cortez. Actors flanking Trevor in the teaser flaunt adicolor pieces, vintage graphic tees, big hair, high socks, and old school track shoes.
There’s no word yet on what ’80s gear Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) will be rocking in the movie so stay tuned. Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters and home theaters on November 1, 2019 December 25, 2020.
The Nike Cortez is available now at Nike for $75 for Men and $70 for Women.
That dude is rocking that moustache!!! Isn’t the Cortez the show Gump ran America in?
