The adidas Montreal 76 is a reminder that anyone can wear the shoes of Olympians.
The 1976 Summer Games in Montreal created the need for a designated sneaker for certain athletes. The end result was the adidas Montreal 76, an all-purpose trainer.
The Montreal 76 features a collapsable rubber heel counter that won’t mess up the laces for quick entry and has suede on the upper. Meanwhile, leather can be found on the heel, three-stripes branding, and the collar lining of the sneaker to complement the suede.
There is also oversized foxing tape on the sides of the sneaker to go along with the rubber outsole. All this combined for sneaker that could be used for performance as well as casual wear.
The adidas Montreal 76 will release in two colorways on September 11. If these are similar to previous Montreal 76 builds, fans can expect the price to be about $99 USD. The shoes should be available on adidas.ca as well as at select adidas retailers. It is unknown if these will see a Stateside release.
