In early May, WearTesters reported that the Air Safari, the shoe that first introduced the brand’s Safari print, would be honored with a Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 colorway. Now, that colorway — and one for the Air Jordan 3 ‘Fire Red’ — have arrived.
These latest builds, which have appeared on Nike.com for $125, honor timeless Swoosh sneakers from the late-80s. The 1987 Air Safari, which came back in 2018 as a Quickstrike release, informs one colorway while the 1988 Air Jordan 3 ‘Fire Red’ informs the other.
The Jordan Zoom Tenacity 88 is a performance runner/trainer from the Jordan Brand; it uses a textile and synthetic build and there’s a Zoom Air unit embedded in a foam midsole for cushioning. Recently, the shoe has been releasing in colorways that pay homage to the Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ and ‘True Blue’, which both originally released in 1988.
