A Russell Westbrook OKC Edition of the Jordan Fly Next Appears

The upcoming Jordan Fly Next has appeared in an OKC makeup for Russell Westbrook.

Nike hasn’t officially declared the Jordan Fly Next Russell Westbrook’s signature shoe, but with so many “Why Not?” PE editions gearing up to release to the general public it makes us wonder if this is it.

The Jordan Fly Next has had a mixed fan reaction, but I’ve seen the shoe in person and liked it quite a bit. At the time I had not known this was going to be tied to Westbrook, I just thought it reminded me of Jordan Brand’s heritage — most notably the Air Jordan 15 and the Jordan Nu Retro 2.

Something that I find slightly concerning is that Westbrook doesn’t seem to want to wear the Air Jordan 32. While we don’t know why he doesn’t wear the shoe, the only thing that I can think of is that he prefers the decoupled feeling that models like the Air Jordan 28-30 provide.

He has been going back and fourth with those models this season over the Air Jordan 32. So, if we were to assume that the stiff/bulkiness of the tooling is a factor then I don’t see how he would want to wear the Fly Next on-court. (This is only based on speculation and not fact, of course.)

However, the shoe looks like it’ll offer great traction. Some may not like the synthetic overlay over most of the shoe, cushion is currently unknown, and to top it off, it looks a little clunky (I still think they look cool though).

Share your thoughts on the Jordan Fly Next in this OKC ‘Why Not?’ edition below and stay tuned for official information regarding the shoe’s tech specs, pricing, and release date(s) soon.

    1. That was a fun one. Valerian has some of the vibe from it. it might be an unofficial sequel; those waddling golden beetle men were there in the beginning. Its not as good as the Fifth Element, but I thought it had some alright parts.
