Reebok’s collaborations with Kendrick Lamar — which include the Ventilator, Classic Leather, Classic Leather Perfect Split pack, and Split Classic Leather — have sold well and are making Reeboks desirable again. Now, the Vector and rapper Kendrick Lamar are capping off their ‘Red and Blue’ collection with one last kick.
The latest Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather Lux doesn’t actually use red or blue. Instead, the sneaker features an olive green premium leather upper that honors the Compton saying, “Mixing red and blue makes green.” Of course, the heels get the ‘Red’ and Blue’ text embossed on the heels that echo Lamar’s call for unity and peace between the infamous LA gangs. A gum outsole compliments the earthy upper nicely and starcrest branding hits the tongue.
According to Reebok, Kendrick Lamar had this to say:
“Similar to my collaborations with Reebok in the past, I want to create products that provide fans with larger meanings and messages — particularly ones that inspire unity and growth within communities and youth. In Compton, we have a saying that ‘mixing Red and Blue makes Green.’ While ‘green’ is usually thought of in a monetary respect here, this shoe represents a new definition of ‘green’- – community growth. If we work together, we can break down barriers and prosper.”
The Reebok Classic x Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather Lux will become available at Reebok.com and select global retailers on November 25 (Black Friday).
