A classic ’80s basketball sneaker — which came with a sizable outrigger for lateral stability way back then — the Reebok BB 5600 is available once again for a new generation.
Back from 1986, the Reebok BB 5600 has been re-released in two colorways — White/Collegiate Royal and White/Black — for $90 each.
Originally worn by the Celtics’ Danny Ainge and Dennis Johnson, the BB 5600 features a supple leather upper, padded tongue and collar, and a traditional lace closure. The looping side panels flaunt vintage Reebok branding while the shoe rides atop a durable rubber outsole.
Now called the Reebok BB 5600 Archive, the shoe is available now at FinishLine.com for $90.

I already ordered my pair of the black/white! This was the first Reebok I can remember being worn by NBA players and started my love for mid 80’s to early 90’s Reebok basketball shoes. I started wear testing for Reebok in 1990 and was a part of testing the Twighlight Zone Pumps, the first Battleground Pumps and some of the initial Above The Rim branded Reebok basketball shoes. Wearing a size 14 now (I wore a 12 when I tested) it is hard to find any of the retro Reebok basketball shoes in my size. I’m really excited to see them when they arrive at the end of this week!
The tongue is too low on these. The originals had a higher tongue.
