After sightings on the feet of those such as J. Cole and an on-court debut by Kyle Kuzma, we now have our own in hand look at the PUMA Sky Dreamer. A modern take on the 1985 Puma Sky LX, this latest silhouette pays respect to the brand’s high top heritage on court.
The PUMA Sky Dreamer — as this colorway is called, features a white textile base for the upper with leather hits on the tongue and around the ankle collar. Suede is also used for overlays on both sides of the sneaker, including PUMA’s Formstrip which wraps all the way around into an ankle strap, a nod to the Sky LX.
According to PUMA Singapore, an injection molded EVA is used for the midsole. Compared to the Clyde Hardwood which uses a proprietary EVA, the Sky Dreamer feels slightly more plush. For sizing, the pair in possession is a half size down from true size, which so far makes for a good, snug fit. Multidirectional coverage is also provided for traction by combination of radial and diagonal lines along with other patterns throughout.
The PUMA Sky Dreamer release date is February 13 and retail price will be $130. The release date is right in time to kick off NBA All Star Weekend festivities. Here’s to hoping performance is on-par or even better than the Clyde Hardwood for those that are fans of high tops. There’s already been some excitement for the silhouette in the WearTesters Discord community.
