Puma has had a huge 2016 and it has capped off the year by retroing one of the company’s most beloved ’90s silhouettes: the Prevail.
I collect mostly ’90s kicks (like wild looking Reeboks) and I was eyeing an auction on an original pair of Puma Prevails. According to Hanon, Puma reproduced the Prevail 1:1 so the Prevail reissue looks identical to the original — that’s great because just look at those lines. There are zigs and zags all over this model and that’s what gives it its flair. To me, the dark accents look like black fire (and I love it).
Done up in White and Royal Purple, the upper is comprised of mesh and nylon. Classic Puma and Trinomic branding hit the tongues and quarters, respectively, and the shoe sits atop the ever-comfortable Trinomic cushioning system.
This morning the Puma Prevail OG launched at tons of retailers overseas including Hanon, END, Afew, 43einhalb, and more. There is no official word yet on when the silhouette will arrive Stateside but I can’t wait! Now that the Prevail has exited the vault it may receive new colorways or even become a collaboration staple.

I always have love for ol school kicks. The nostalgia is strong in this one.
