You can’t think about ’90s streetwear without thinking about FUBU, the definitive hip-hop brand literally for the people: For Us By Us.
The Puma Suede has withstood the test of time and gone through decades of cultural revivals. Rooted in performance, it has garnered respect from the street that has made it one of the most iconic sneakers of all time.
Now, Puma and FUBU — two streetwear legends — are coming together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Puma Suede with a capsule fully loaded in fresh velour and throwback swag.
The collection pays tribute the iconic FUBU tracksuits and the forever fresh Puma Suede. The FUBU x Puma Classic Suede sneaker — which will be available in adult, grade school, and infant sizes — takes on a black velour upper and red velour lining. Red velour piping outlines the black Formstripe and sits atop a thick, black rubber sole with a red outsole for a requisite dash of flavor.
Gold accents provide that extra swagger while a commemorative Suede 50 logo is featured in the tongue. Three sets of laces (black, red, white) make it easy to turn things up or down.
The apparel side of the collection includes the Men’s T7 Track Jacket and Pants that echo the Puma Suede of the collection. Both pieces feature a Puma x FUBU satin twill applique and a “What Will Your Legacy Look Like” patch on the back. The tee comes fresh in white with a large Puma x FUBU rubberized screen print on the chest.
For the ladies, the Puma x FUBU Women’s T7 Track Jacket comes in black french terry with a large Puma x FUBU satin twill on the back, gold foil Puma No. 1 Logo on the chest, and a FUBU “What Will Your Legacy Look Like” patch on the back.
While no pricing information has been announced, you can pick up the Puma x FUBU capsule collection on puma.com and leading sneaker retailers worldwide January 26.
