Performance Teaser: Li-Ning Way of Wade 2.0 Pt. 2

Gets better with every wear.

Performance Teaser Li-Ning Way of Wade 2.0 Pt. 2 1The fit on these guys are amazing, after you swap those laces out. I spoke about this briefly in the last teaser and once those laces were swapped the difference was incredibly noticeable. Overall lockdown has been pretty much adequate. Nothing spectacular but there is nothing that would have you hesitate when making a move. The hard as rock tongue is still hard as a rock but it hasn’t bothered me at all. Maybe its the way I tie my shoes but the tongue just moves with my ankle/ leg while I move… the way pretty much any tongue on a shoe does. Still strange how stiff it is but I think that’s more for casual appeal… I’m just happy it didn’t affect their performance.

Cushion is the same as the original. Same feel and everything, despite it being a thicker midsole. I still prefer the way the foam cushion systems were implemented in the Li-Ning Turningpoint more but this provides you with good impact protect without any loss of reaction time. The foam itself isn’t responsive but still cushions without limiting court feel – similar to the PEAK TP9. Personally, I do like being a little lower to the ground (the original Way of Wade was perfect in that sense) but I do like the added height I received – being short and all – and even with the increased midsole thickness… court feel feels about the same as well which is a nice surprise.

I love leather, especially when having leather doesn’t compromise fit and lockdown. For this being their second installment, there is plenty of room to grow and at this point, little to improve upon. Stay tuned for the full Performance Review soon.

  1. Nightwing and kickgenius are completely different, how you compliment the lining wow 2 and how they gave it a trash rate.

  2. court feel is by far the best attribute of the WoW1, that and the materials, of course. just played in my WoWs yesterday and enjoyed them as usual, i’ve said before that the traction is not the best, and it looks like things will be much the same this time around, but they’re fun enough to play in for me to overlook that (as long as i wipe conscientiously)

      1. it’s like you said, the rubber that they use is so…damn…sticky…when the outsole is clean they stop on a dime…if they only had a more efficient traction pattern they would be unbeatable…

  3. “For this being their second installment, there is plenty of room to grow and at this point, little to improve upon.”

Great sentence. This is why I’d rather have you write than use company press material.

    1. If you read NW’s 1st teaser, he said he was going to lace swap because the 3M pair that come with the shoes were hard and not useful for playing in. Sounds to me like the swap helped the performance a great deal from the read.
