Performance Deals: Jordan Melo M9

I don’t know the reason why or if this is just an error yet to be seen… but you can grab the Gym Red/ White- Black & University Blue/ Black – White Jordan Melo M9 for $119.98 versus their original $139.99 over at Finish Line. This isn’t a huge price break but it is something and if you have coupons, Winners Circle points or just want to earn some points… then you can get a great pair of hoop shoes while doing either of the three.

Just a heads up for those that like to save a little cash.

  1. I saw this last night and couldn’t understand why it was on sale already. I wish that the colorway that I wanted was already available so that maybe it could be on sale too.

  2. It’s because of the undesirable colorway. I would like to see a review comparing a separated outsole from a non. (With outer shank). Sort of a Jordan 2012 or XXVIII or Rose/crazy lights vs let(s say a Kobe VIII or a Hyperdunk. Still don’t know if (1) more injuries occur with the flexibility of a separated outsole or less because the foot can flex more and (2) Does the separated outsole because of its flexibility give one more performance? Is cushion or support sacrificed because of this? Is there a direct correlation between foot flexibility and chance of rolling ones ankle? Just would like to know why a separated outsole is not standard on any shoe or a guards shoe? Or is an inner shank just as good or not better. Seems 98% of all shoes are a continuous rubber outsole? (especially any shoe before 2010). Just wondering.

  3. just tried these on and they fit true to size. I used the nubuck design btw. great material used. the sleeve pretty much hug your foot in place and the lockdown from the ankles to the heel is awesome. traction is very great (did I say this right?) ! the forefoot zoom felt a little bit weird at first but once you get used to becomes really nice. it seems like the force is absorbed under the shoe rather than under the foot which creates some sort of vertical rebound but the shoe is extremely responsive even when sprinting. springy in my opinion but I didn’t quite like the heel zoom response although I believe it would get better in time.

reason for this is that it seemed to fell short of the KD V which I like a lot and possibly because the KD V is lighter and much open ventilated and doesn’t restrict your movement that much compared to the Melo 9’s. also, I love the topload zoom response of the Soldier 6 better than the Heel Zoom response of the Melo 9’s. but the forefront zoom outsole of the Melo 9 is certainly worth considering since it gives a different response which I don’t mind having on future Jordan shoes. this is why I might consider the UGLY BETTIES (Jordan XX8) next month because the proplate zoom tech intrigues me and somehow the Melo 9’s gave a bit of a glimpse of the possible cushion response of the XX8’s. also, the difference is that the XX8’s have both zoom units both forefoot and heel lying around the outsole region.

I still hate the XX8’s, but I’m willing to give them a shot eventhough they are ridiculously expensive. end of rant.
