PEAK Team Lightning 2

We just had a look at the PEAK Tony Parker 1 and now we get a look at what might be the PEAK Team Lightning 2.

The midsole and outsole look to be reused from the first Team Lightning while the upper gets a redesign. They look cooler than the original but performance will likely be the same.

  1. Looks like a minor facelift from the Peak Lightning 1. Wonder if the cushioning system will be Gradient Dual or Cushion-3. Also looks like a lower cut than the first PL. If Peak were more mainstream, these would probably be all over the feet of college and NBA players looking for a low top shoe to ball in.

  2. Peak is really improving on their aesthetic looks and are showing why NBA players love to wear them. Props to Peak!

  3. I recently got a pair of these in silver (as shown) based on the reviews of previous Team Lightnings. My initial impression is that this shoe looks more expensive than what its listed price goes for (and I also bought it on sale here in the PI for about US$45 converted). Went balling in them for about 2 hours, and the cushioning was superb. Neither too bouncy nor springy, but it jut felt like it “softened” every impact without feeling dead. No more aching joints and sore feet after the game. But what stood out for me was its stellar traction. We usually play indoors where the floor is barely mopped and is as dusty as a desert. This thing just bit like a pit…out of the box, no wiping. It just kept gripping where I would have normally slipped or lost traction due to dust buildup. Only minor gripes I have about these are that sizing seems a bit off lengthwise (but does not feel clumsy) and the upper feels quite stiff (may get better in time the more I play in these, so no worries).

Great shoe if you care less about logos, but more on performance.

Peak’s for real! I now am a believer. Thank you WearTesters!
