Next week adidas and Parley for the Oceans are dropping their first collaborative pack: two new EQT Support ADV builds.
The recently revived EQT Support ADV has gotten new life by way of a two-toned knitted upper that is partially made using recycled Parley Ocean Plastic. adidas hasn’t said how exactly that plastic is integrated or how much of these new products it makes up, but it’s a start.
The pack uses poetry (check out the video below) and handsome silhouettes to draw attention to the horrific conditions of our oceans. According to adidas, the shoes use upcycled plastic waste that has been found on the beaches of the Maldives and recycled rubber outsoles.
“Every second breath we take is created by life in the oceans,” said Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans, said in a statement. “Still, we are killing it off in rapid speed. With adidas Originals we are encouraging and equipping the resistance, the next generation of creators. Rebels, troublemakers and emerging talent who understand the need for change better than anyone. They do, because it’s their future.”
The adidas Originals EQT Support ADV by Parley arrives in U.S. sizes 4.0 – 14, 15 on October 14 for $160.
